Spanish class...here comes Mr. Watson!

Yes it's true! Justin just landed a job as a Spanish school teacher at Mt. Pleasant High School here in North Carolina! We are so excited for him and us to get his career moving a little faster! Teaching jobs have not been the easiest to find in the past year and now one has finally opened up. Now he is closer to getting his masters finished too! The contract is only for a semester as of right now but we are thinking it will be probably be the whole year. But he has his foot in the door at least and we are excited! He will be teaching Spanish because well thats what he graduated in and thats what he loves. Justin served his mission in Argentina and so is very fluent in Spanish, so thats a few bonus points too :) Anyways we are excited for him. He starts August 25th, so therefore I'm excited to go decorate his classroom!

Youth Pioneer Trek 2010

So this past weekend was our Stake's Youth Pioneer Trek. Me and Justin were going as grandparents for one of the Pioneer Families that traveled across the plains. Our family was named the Richard Ballantyne Family. We seriously had the best family ever! Our kids were awesome and never complained and worked their little guts out the entire way. It was an eventful trek. After walking 8 miles the first day, when we returned Justin drank to much Gatorade too fast. He wasn't feeling really well after that and looked really pale in his face. The Trek Doctor told him to go lay down on one of the benches, drink a little bit of water and eat some bread. Well I went to go get him one of our towels to lay his head on. When I returned I found a nice surprise waiting for me. Justin has thrown up all over the floor, in a cooking pan, and it was all over his face from the top of his head to the bottom of his chin. It was a beautiful site to say the least. Then on top of that I had gotten major horrible blisters on both of my feet to the point where I could barely walk. Needless to say people were saying that our Newly Wed status had went to a whole new level. They said we really must love each other for coming on trek on our 3rd week of Marriage and dealing with throw up and horrible blisters. So we fear nothing now! :) We really enjoyed this experience and how grateful we are for the pioneers! What awesome people they were! What I was most grateful for when we got back was air conditioning, a shower, and most of all my comfortable bed. I will never complain again about sleeping crappy! :)

We had to take some of the kids from the Spanish Branch to Trek. They didnt eat breakfast so we made a quick stop to Micky-D's before they had to "suffer" trek...so they said.
